Elvis Majani Esq is the Co-founder and now consultant of Center for Sports Law; listed in the International Who’s Who of Sports & Entertainment Lawyers (2013) http://whoswholegal.com/research/pdfs/202; he is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Sports Lawyer based in Nairobi Kenya.
Majani has is renowned in the fields of sports integrity, governance, arbitration and player empowerment, he has worked with clients in both the football and Basketball industry. Such services have included advice on business matters in the area of sport, disclosure obligations under the relevant football authority’s rules, conflicts of interest, rights of athletes in dispute, and third party player ownership contracts. He has also been active in Legal representation and services to Athletes.
He has published widely in the area of sports law – including contributing to the African Sports Law and Business Bulletin Journal Issue 1/2013 and has made presentations at conferences on the topic of sports law, most recent being the FIFPRO- Africa Division conference held in Cairo Egypt on the 24th – 26th of September 2013. He has been invited to several television and radio football magazine shows, where he discussed matters involving development of Sports and protection of Athletes’ basic rights. Majani works with lawyers and Sports firms to create targeted and accessible legal content develop marketing strategies and provide training on investments avenues for players.
Prior to Co- founding Center for Sports Law, Majani studied Law and had a brief study on International Sports Law, Sport Finance, Sports agency. His passions are law, sport and charity. His goal is encourage the development of Sports Law as a career and tool for Lawyers and Sports as a beneficial career for Athletes. He is also concerned with promotion of commercialization of Sports rights in Africa.
