Sarah Ochwada is a Retired Runway Model, a Novice Archer, and an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya specialising in Sports & Entertainment Law. She is the 1st Black African Woman to attain a Masters degree in International Sports Law after having ran a successful crowd-funding campaign on social media (Sindikiza SnoLegal) to raise money for her masters’ degree.
Sarah is a founding partner of Kikao Law – a boutique firm specialising in Intellectual Property, Sports and Entertainment Law. She has vast experience international and local sports law matters which includes: Working as a legal intern for the International Table Tennis Federation in Lausanne, Switzerland; Contributing amendments and insights during the legislative drafting process of the Sports Act; Re-drafting the Constitutions of National Sports Federations notably for Kenya Hockey Union (KHU), Kenya Table Tennis Association (KTTA), and Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF); Reviewing the Constitution for Kenya Footballers’ Welfare Association (KEFWA); Drafting Sports Event Management Agreements for long-term partnerships between Kenya Basketball Federation & companies in the private sector; Reviewing Contracts and giving legal counsel to the Maasai Cricket Warriors team on a documentary film.
From the Entertainment Law side, Sarah has worked on Licensing of Intellectual Property Rights for creatives, Registration of Copyright and Trademarks and rights clearances for music and television productions.
Sarah is an Arbitrator and Secretary for Athletics Kenya as well as CEO of the Centre for Sports Law (CSL), and more recently was employed as an adjunct lecturer teaching a pioneer class of Sports & Entertainment Law at Strathmore University’s Law School.

Sarah is an avid blogger on Sports and Entertainment Law issues and has been quoted in Standard Newspaper on professional football player contracts. She has also written extensively on Anti-doping matters and has been consulted for Ambush Marketing, Image Rights and Sponsorship issues.
